Proveca Hold their First Paediatric Educational Meeting

Proveca held their first paediatric educational meeting at the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health building in London on the 15th March.  The programme was titled ‘Updates on Management of Saliva Control in Cerebral Palsy and Safety of Medicines in Children’. 

Dr Charlie Fairhurst, Lead Consultant in Children’s Neurodisability, Evelina London, presented on Saliva Control in Cerebral Palsy providing an insight into the Evelina approach.  Dr Helen Shaw, Medical Director, Proveca, gave an overview of the pan-European approach to licensing off-patent medicines in children, the Paediatric Use Marketing Authorisation (PUMA) and finally Mr Stephen Tomlin, Consultant Pharmacist, Children’s Services, Evelina London, presented on the ‘Safety of Medicines in Children and Availability of Patient Information for Carers’.  Dr Indrani Banerjee, Consultant Community Paediatrician from Northwick Park Hospital chaired the meeting which was attended by many Paediatric Consultants from around London and beyond.
